Patrick Randel Simpson

Spread the love

Patrick Randel Simpson Jr, 67, of Casey, Illinois, passed peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on July 25, 1957, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Pat was the son of Patrick and Ada Simpson. He was a graduate of Martinsvillea Blue Streak Legend – in 1975 and from Lake Land College in 1977. Like his father, he made a career at Marathon Pipeline Company, working with good people there for 38 and a half years before retiring in January 2014.

Family and friends defined Pat in the most profound ways. He was unwavering in his love and support for his family—always present, always dependable. His friendships were just as enduring, often marked by laughter, loyalty, and shared memories. From practical jokes pulled in the classroom to “quick” lunch breaks with coworkers and tee times with the guys, Pat made time for people. His relationships weren’t just part of his life—they were the heart of it. The stories shared by those who knew him best are a testament to a man who gave generously of his time, his humor, and his heart.

To know Pat was to laugh with him. A fun-loving soul with a twinkle in his eye, he had a gift for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. He didn’t just enter a room—he lit it up. Strangers became friends within minutes, drawn in by his warmth, wit, and that unmistakable orneriness that made every story just a little bit better. Joy followed him like a shadow. His life was a living invitation to smile, to talk a while, and to remember that laughter is one of God’s best gifts.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Cindy; their children Kyle (Brittanya) and Brandon (Veronica); his beloved grandchildren: Layka, Larkyn, Grayson, Lakreigh, and Loktyn; his mother, Ada; his sisters: Sandie (Charles) and Nancy (Marvin); and his brother: Scott (Karen)

He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Terri.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held at the Casey Methodist Church on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with burial to follow in the Vernon Addition Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation to be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the church. All are welcome and appreciated.

*Cindy and the kids deeply cherish stories of Pat and would be truly grateful if you shared yours with them. If you feel led, please consider writing a letter to them—a keepsake they can return to in the days and years ahead.
