
Joyce and Gary Shore
Joyce Shore presented the program on Tuesday at the Rotary Club’s weekly meeting at Richards Farm.
She and her husband, Gary, a former District Governor, attended the Installation of John G. Calderon, the new District Governor for District 6490. The event was held in Rantoul on June 14.
One of John’s top priorities for 2025-26 is an international project, “Shoes for Orphan Soles.” All clubs in the district will have the opportunity to take part in the project.
Rotarians will be working with Buckner International to distribute the shoes, 80% of which are distributed internationally, and 20% in the United States.
They are primarily for children between the ages of 0-14 years.
Each club is asked to choose a shoe “cheerleader” to get their clubs excited about the project.
