SCHOOL BOARD MEETING BRIEFS

Waiver Renewal Approved: The board authorized renewal of the full-day School Improvement waiver, allowing continued use of four full professional development days instead of six half-days, based on staff and community preference.

Musical Productions Planned: Rehearsals are underway for “Annie Jr.” with performances scheduled for the last weekend in February, while the choir prepares music for a March concert.

Senior Trip Scheduled: High school seniors will travel March 4-6 with staff chaperones Mrs. Keeney and Mr. Eckerty for their annual senior trip experience.

Professional Development Opportunity: The Illinois Association of School Boards Wabash Valley Region Spring meeting will be held March 18 at Newton Elementary School, offering board member training sessions.

FAFSA Night Planned: Freshman Orientation and FAFSA Night is scheduled for January 29th to assist families with college financial aid planning.

Budget Update Positive: After two quarters of fiscal year 2025, district revenues and expenditures remain aligned with the adopted budget, indicating continued strong financial management.
