Utility Rate Study Advances: Water and sewer rate study information is ready for submission to the Illinois Rural Water Association for professional review, moving the city closer to addressing identified financial losses in utility operations.

Committee Meetings Planned: Alderman Hanley announced intentions to schedule a City Hall/Public Safety committee meeting soon, while the Downtown Improvement and Economic Development committee continues working through a project list following their January 27 meeting.

Public Concerns Raised: Resident Cody Heer questioned city processes including tree removal bidding, electric rates, and online publication of ordinances during the public forum.

High Monthly Expenditures: The council approved $4,199,553.99 in January bills paid, a notably higher amount than typical monthly city expenditures, though no explanation was provided for the increase.
