CITY MEETING BRIEFS
Founder’s Day Parade Planned: A Founder’s Day Parade is being organized for May 10th following a request by Patty Richards during the public forum. A resolution authorizing the parade will be presented at the next council meeting.
Utility Work Continues: The electrical department worked from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. responding to a power outage, with Superintendent Biggs thanking workers for their dedication. The water rate study should be completed next week.
Park Mowing Bids: Park mowing contract bids are out and will be opened March 17th at 2:00 p.m. as the city prepares for the upcoming growing season.
Property Concerns Raised: Multiple residents raised property-related concerns during the public forum, including Nancy Spurgeon’s neighbor complaint and Lori Romanelli’s request for updates on two adjacent properties.
Full Council Attendance: All six aldermen were present for the meeting, marking the first time in recent months that the council achieved complete attendance.
Liquor Ordinance Review: The council’s ordinance committee met before the regular meeting to discuss changes to the liquor ordinance, with City Attorney Willenborg preparing proposed modifications for future consideration.
