SCHOOL BOARD MEETING BRIEFS

Technology Infrastructure Critical: The 9-year-old junior/senior high server replacement was urgently needed due to memory loss, 95% capacity usage, and daily error codes threatening system failure.

Local Banking Partnership: Three local banks’ participation in the bond issue eliminates costly underwriting fees while keeping taxpayer money in the local economy.

Testing Season Begins: Junior high IAR testing runs March 19-21, followed by Monroe Elementary testing the week of March 24, representing key academic assessment periods.

Spring Activities Launch: The greenhouse project opens after Easter, National Honor Society induction occurs March 20, and a community blood drive is planned for April 30.

Legislative Monitoring: House Bill 1237 could ban Native American school mascots statewide, with local representative Adam Niemerg serving on the reviewing committee.

Calendar Update: The tentative last day of school is May 22 with Teacher Institute May 23, assuming no additional snow days are needed.
