Casey-Westfield bounced back from a heartbreaking semifinal loss with a dominant 10-0 third-place victory over Dakota June 7th, ending their exceptional season on a high note behind Ava Goble’s complete game shutout.

The Warriors entered the consolation game after falling 6-3 to undefeated Carrollton (37-1) on Friday, a loss that ended their championship hopes but not their determination to finish strong.

Senior pitcher Ava Goble delivered a complete game shutout, surrendering just four hits while silencing the Dakota lineup. The dominant performance showcased the pitching depth that has carried Casey-Westfield throughout their exceptional season.

“The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 27 games by six runs or more this season,” highlighting the consistency of their offensive production.

Anna Karras led the offensive charge with a perfect 2-for-2 performance that included a home run, two runs scored, and a stolen base. Her power hitting provided the spark that opened up the Dakota defense early in the contest.

Allyson Truelove also contributed significantly to the victory, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and a double. The multi-hit performances from both players exemplified the balanced attack that has made Casey-Westfield difficult to contain.

The Warriors posted a remarkable .591 team batting average for the game, their highest single-game mark since April. The offensive explosion demonstrated the team’s ability to elevate their performance in crucial playoff moments.

Casey-Westfield entered the postseason riding tremendous momentum, having won 16 of their last 17 games. The recent surge has been powered by exceptional pitching, with the team allowing just 1.5 runs per game during the stretch.

The Warriors finished the regular season with an impressive 35-4 record, establishing themselves as one of the state’s premier programs. Their combination of dominant pitching and explosive offense has made them a formidable playoff contender.

Dakota concluded their season at 24-7 following the defeat. The Indians had enjoyed a successful campaign before meeting the high-powered Warriors in playoff action.
