One of several getaway cars crashed into another vehicle, killing the driver.

Police arrested seven of the alleged offenders.

Resolution honors Charlie Kirk

Illinois U.S. Reps. Mike Bost, Darin LaHood and Mary Miller have introduced a congressional resolution condemning the assassination and honoring the life and legacy of Illinois native Charlie Kirk.

The Turning Point USA founder was fatally shot Wednesday at Utah Valley University.

Kirk was born in Arlington Heights and attended Wheeling High School.

Burn bans issued

Several communities across Illinois have issued burn bans as drought and abnormally dry conditions expand.

The Illinois State Fire Marshal is urging residents to avoid open burning, properly put out cigarettes and stay alert to fire dangers in fields and grassy areas.
