Secretary of State accuses ICE of plate swapping

Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias says his office is investigating U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement over allegations that agents may be illegally swapping Illinois license plates.

Giannoulias cited a video posted on social media and said it is illegal in Illinois to flip license plates or alter them to avoid detection.

Giannoulias said he was announcing a “Plate Watch Hotline” to report license plate tampering.

Treasurer celebrates LGBTQ+

Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs hosted a celebration in Chicago Tuesday to commemorate LGBTQ+ History Month.

Frerichs presented awards to leaders in business, education, government, labor, sports, arts and humanities, and the community.
