The Casey-Westfield School Board on Monday, November 17, 2025, received positive news regarding the district’s academic standing on the 2024-25 state report cards.
Jr./Sr. High School Principal Mr. Sullivan reported that Casey-Westfield High School received a designation of “Exemplary.” This status is the highest rating available from the Illinois State Board of Education and indicates that the school is performing among the top 10% of high schools statewide.
Sullivan also noted that the Junior High received a “Targeted” status due to the underperformance of a specific subgroup, which missed the benchmark by only two points.
At the elementary level, Principal Mrs. Rhoads announced that Monroe Elementary received a “Commendable” designation. To achieve this status, a school must post high scores across academic areas while not falling into the top 10% tier. Rhoads highlighted that Monroe students scored significantly higher than the state average in English Language Arts, Math, and Science.
Additionally, Rhoads reported that the district’s preschool program earned the Gold Circle of Quality Achievement Award, receiving near-perfect marks during a recent state monitoring visit.
Sullivan also announced that nine high school students have been named 2025-2026 Illinois State Scholars, the highest number of recipients the district has seen in over a decade.
