CASEY, Ill. — The Casey-Westfield CUSD C-4 Board of Education on Monday, December 15, 2025, authorized a significant upgrade to the district’s transportation fleet, approving a lease/purchase agreement for nine new school buses.
The Board voted unanimously to approve a five-year agreement with Midwest Transit Equipment. The deal includes the acquisition of nine new 2026 model, 72-passenger International IC/CE school buses.
Under the terms of the agreement, the district will make an annual payment of $279,000. The total cost of the acquisition is $1,395,000.00. The new vehicles are scheduled to be delivered in July of 2026, in time for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
Voting in favor of the purchase were Board members Erin Fain, Tracy Gelb, Shane Todd, Lisa Huddlestun, Mike Fouty, and Becky Clement.
