The Clark County Board on Friday, November 21, 2025, received a progress report from Highway Engineer Dallas Richardson regarding infrastructure projects and facility improvements.
Richardson announced that the Hogue Town Project (Sec 13-00272-00-RS) received approval for $561,000 in extra funding from the State. A joint agreement has been completed, and public notice was advertised. The plans are currently under review by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), with work scheduled to begin this summer.
Regarding department facilities, Richardson reported that construction on the new building is complete. The department’s next step is to update the exterior of the old building to coordinate with the new structure.
Richardson also noted that the department has produced 150,000 gallons of blacktop and that the second round of mowing is nearly finished. Additionally, the department underwent a full-day inspection by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), which resulted in zero violations. Richardson concluded by informing the board he is working with County Run Solar regarding road damage.
