Casey-Westfield Track Teams Sweep Titles with Dominant Showings at Stewardson-Strasburg

The Casey-Westfield track and field program put on a masterclass of consistency on Thursday, March 26, 2026, as both the boys’ and girls’ teams marched to commanding first-place finishes at the WSS March Home Meet hosted by Stewardson-Strasburg High School.

In a rare and remarkable statistical symmetry, both Casey-Westfield squads compiled exactly 121 team points to capture their respective crowns.

On the boys’ side, the Warriors held off a fierce challenge from Flora (114 points) to secure the top spot in the five-team field. The host, Stewardson-Strasburg, finished third (66.67), followed by Brownstown (24) and Louisville North Clay (17.33).

The Casey-Westfield men were powered by the blistering speed of junior Gio Santillan and a nearly flawless performance in the relay events. Santillan swept his individual sprints, crossing the finish line first in the 200-meter dash (24.7 seconds) and the 400-meter dash (54.9 seconds). He also anchored the Warriors’ victorious 4×100 and 4×400 relay squads.

Sophomore Kyler Ratliff was equally vital to the boys’ championship effort. Ratliff tied for first place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.8 seconds and tied for the gold in the high jump, clearing 1.68 meters. He joined Seth Svika, Jett Self, and Santillan to win the 4×100 relay in 45.9 seconds. Casey-Westfield’s distance runners showcased their endurance by winning the 4×800 relay in 10:26.2, while junior William Moore provided crucial field points by winning the discus with a 40.94-meter throw.

In the girls’ competition, Casey-Westfield’s 121 points easily distanced them from runner-up Louisville North Clay (75 points). Stewardson-Strasburg (43 points) and Brownstown (35 points) rounded out the standings.

The Lady Warriors achieved absolute perfection in the baton exchanges, sweeping all four relay events on the afternoon. The teams of Audrey Goble, Savannah Lyman, Madison Gray, and Addison McDearmon took the 4×100 (56.6 seconds), while Gray, Madilyn Gelb, Ezzy Herrera, and Lyman won the 4×200 (2:08.9). Casey-Westfield completed the sweep by taking the 4×400 in 6:56.1 and the 4×800 in 13:10.5.

Freshman Chloe Taylor emerged as a multi-event star for the Lady Warriors. Taylor won the 300-meter hurdles in 56.2 seconds, claimed gold in the high jump (1.60 meters), and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles. Junior Audrey Goble secured the 100-meter hurdles title in 18.1 seconds.

McDearmon added an individual sprint victory to her relay success, winning the 200-meter dash in 30.6 seconds. Senior Kaitlyn McKinney took home gold in the 400-meter dash (1:06.8), and senior Kayla Clark grinded out a victory in the 3200-meter run with a time of 14:04.1.
