Martinsville C.U.S.D. #C-3 Board of Education Meeting | February 23, 2026

The Martinsville Community Unit School District #C-3 Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, February 23, 2026. Following an open session that handled extensive policy updates and athletic renewals, the board entered a closed executive session at 7:14 p.m. to discuss personnel matters. The board returned to open session at 8:19 p.m. to accept a staff resignation, approve administrative evaluations, and authorize new hires before adjourning at 8:29 p.m.

Personnel Changes and Evaluations: Following executive session, the board unanimously approved the District Principal evaluations. The board also accepted the resignation of Beulah Piehl as Head Cook for the district. For new hires, the board approved Bethani Conzen as the Assistant Musical Director and approved a recommendation to post a full-time 6th Grade Teacher position at Martinsville Elementary School (MES).

Student and School Successes: The district highlighted several ongoing student achievements, including a 5th-grade perspective writing project focusing on an Underground Railroad book. Additionally, updates were provided regarding FFA Camp and FFA Week, noting that students in the district’s greenhouse have processed 3,900 plants.

Public Comment: Three individuals addressed the board during the public comment period. Tiffany Moseley spoke to the board regarding a wrestling co-op, Jerry Rankin spoke about lighting concerns, and Bella Reed spoke about the FCA Chapter.

Out of State Trips: The board voted unanimously to approve a slate of unspecified Out of State Trips. The motion was passed via roll call with all present members voting in favor.
