The Casey-Westfield track and field teams continued their strong spring campaign on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, traveling to Paris High School and capturing second place in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions at a competitive five-team meet.

The host Paris Tigers defended their home track, sweeping the team titles. In the boys’ division, Paris edged the Warriors 128.5 to 116. Danville Schlarman finished third (51), followed by Broadlands Heritage (21) and Hume Shiloh (14.5). On the girls’ side, Paris amassed 144 points to Casey-Westfield’s 79, with Danville Schlarman (47), Hume Shiloh (33), and Broadlands Heritage (32) rounding out the field.

Despite settling for team silver, the Casey-Westfield boys delivered several gold-medal performances, highlighted by dominance in the relays and field events. Sophomore Kyler Ratliff paced the track efforts, winning the 400-meter dash in a personal-best 53.0 seconds. He also tied for second in the 100-meter dash (11.8 seconds) and cleared 6 feet to take third in the high jump.

The Warriors’ relay squads proved formidable. The 4×200-meter team of Riley Phillips, Evan Seaman, Jett Self, and William Moore secured a first-place finish with a time of 1:43.5. Later in the meet, Ratliff anchored the 4×400-meter relay, teaming with Riley Gray, Emry Roberts, and Jackson High to cross the line first in 3:43.2.

In the field, junior William Moore was the standout for Casey-Westfield. Moore launched the discus 135 feet, 5 inches to comfortably win the event, and added a third-place finish in the shot put (38 feet, 6.25 inches). Teammate Wyatt Erickson earned a runner-up finish in the shot put with a personal-best toss of 41 feet, 10.25 inches.

For the Lady Warriors, distance running and relay execution were the keys to their second-place finish. Senior Kayla Clark dominated the 1600-meter run, clocking a season-best 6:08.0 to win the race by 15 seconds. Senior Kaitlyn McKinney was equally impressive in the sprints, capturing gold in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.8.

McKinney also served as the crucial anchor leg for two victorious Casey-Westfield relay teams. She joined Madison Gray, Audriana Hernandez, and Chloe Taylor to win the 4×400 relay in 4:35.4. In the 4×800 relay, the quartet of Julia Eckerty, Clark, Hernandez, and McKinney combined to take first place in 12:01.0.

Freshman Chloe Taylor added valuable points across multiple events for the Lady Warriors, earning runner-up finishes in the 300-meter hurdles (50.5 seconds) and the high jump (5 feet, 2 inches). Junior Audrey Goble also secured a second-place finish, crossing the line in 17.9 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles.
