CASEY, Ill. — The Casey-Westfield men’s track and field team defended its home turf, while the Marshall women’s squad put on a dominant display on the oval to claim team titles at Thursday’s quad meet on April 9, 2026.

The Casey-Westfield men amassed 113 points to comfortably outpace Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville (74), Marshall (36), and Hume Shiloh (11). In the women’s competition, Marshall secured the victory with 95.5 points, holding off host Casey-Westfield (68), Hume Shiloh (28.5), and OPH (12).

The Warriors’ men’s squad was propelled by a spectacular individual performance from sophomore Kyler Ratliff, who claimed three first-place finishes. Ratliff swept the long sprints, winning the 200-meter dash with a personal-best 23.9 seconds and the 400-meter dash in 54.6 seconds. He also took gold in the field, clearing 6 feet to win the high jump.

Casey-Westfield’s depth was evident in the relays, where the Warriors claimed victories in the 4×200 (1:40.3), 4×400 (4:06.5), and 4×800 (10:20.9). Additional wins for the hosts came from sophomore Rylie Large in the 3200-meter run (12:25.3), junior Riley Phillips in the 110-meter hurdles (20.6), and junior William Moore in the triple jump (34′ 3″).

Runner-up Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville (OPH) showed formidable strength in the throwing events. OPH also picked up track victories from sophomore Kale Hall in the 100 meters (11.7) and junior Willis Strohm in the 300-meter hurdles (45.9).

Senior Kaiden Sanders added a field victory for the Lions, winning the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 4.5 inches.

In the women’s meet, Marshall utilized a balanced attack across the sprints, distance events, and field to secure the team title. Senior Marlee Heighton was the centerpiece of the Lions’ offense, winning the 200 meters (27.7) and the long jump (15′ 2.75″). Heighton also tied for first place in the 400 meters with freshman teammate Aubree Shaffer, as both crossed the line in 1:04.6.
