SCHOOL BOARD MEETING BRIEFS

Summer Construction Planned: Major facility improvements begin after Memorial Day, with cafeterias closed June 2-17 for asbestos abatement and Agriculture/Industrial Arts Building without power for electrical upgrades.

State Track Qualifiers: Four Lady Warriors advanced to state competition following sixth-place sectional finish: Audrey Goble (100m hurdles), Kaitlyn McKinney (400m run), Kayla Clark (3200m run), and 4x800m relay team.

Budget Hearing Scheduled: The amended FY 2025 budget will be available for public review beginning May 20, with a public hearing set for June 23 at 7:00 p.m.

Emergency Shelter Request: Simple Blessings requested use of Monroe Elementary’s gym lobby as emergency shelter during natural disasters, pending legal review and board approval.

Committee Meetings Set: Building and Grounds Committee meets June 3 at 3:00 p.m., and Budget and Finance Committee meets June 16 at 5:00 p.m. to address upcoming projects and budget matters.

Health Survey Approved: The board accepted Green and Associates’ proposal to conduct the required 10-year Health/Life Safety Survey mandated by the Illinois State Board of Education.
