James Alan “Jim” Brewer, 65
James Alan “Jim” Brewer, 65, of Casey, Illinois, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Heartland Nursing and Rehabilitation, Casey, Illinois. He was born November 20, 1959, in Pana, Illinois, the son of Donald Eugene Brewer and Betty Ruth (Havens) Brewer.
Jim, known to friends and classmates as Boo, was a 1977 graduate of Casey High School and attended Southern Illinois University. He worked in various factories in the area; his favorite job was working in the Pro Shop at the Casey Country Club. Jim enjoyed all sports and would occasionally place a bet or two on his favorite teams. His favorite sport was golf and he was happiest anytime he was on a golf course.
He is survived by his sister, Judy Gross (Dave) of Martinsville, Illinois; nephew, Jason Gross (Nicole) and their children Zoey and Kyrie; and niece, Amy Evans (Nate) and their children Clayton and Ada. He is also survived by friends and golf buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His request was to be cremated and his ashes buried with his parents in Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, Illinois.
