Illinois quick hits: Lawsuit filed over Guard deployment; 3 charged for using vehicles to impede ICE
Lawsuit filed over Guard deployment
Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul has filed a lawsuit challenging what he calls the Trump administration’s “unlawful deployment” of National Guard members in Illinois.
The suit names President Donald Trump, cabinet officials and the U.S. Army itself.
Raoul said there is no lawful explanation for the federal deployment and said the city of Chicago joined the federal complaint.
Three charged for using vehicles to impede ICE
Three Illinois residents are charged with using their vehicles to impede and interfere with federal agents.
The charges allege that two of the three defendants rammed their vehicles into vehicles being driven by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in separate incidents in Bensenville and Woodridge last week, while the third defendant allegedly rear-ended a federal law enforcement vehicle in Chicago on Thursday.
Airports of the Year announced

Rockford International was named Primary Airport of the Year and Lansing Municipal was named Reliever Airport of the Year.
Mt. Greenville and Sterling won awards for general aviation.
Among the award considerations are cooperation and coordination with the state, safety record, facility maintenance and promotion of aviation.
