Pritzker creates commission to hear alleged ICE abuses

Through executive order, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker created the Illinois Accountability Commission to take testimony of alleged abuses by federal immigration officials.

The order announced Thursday morning aims to create a public record of alleged abuses, capture the impact on families and communities and recommend actions to “prevent further harm and pursue justice.”

Bailey family grieving loss of son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren

Republican gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey’s campaign has released a statement following the death of Bailey’s son Zachary and his family.

According to the statement, Zachary Bailey, his wife Kelsey, and their children, 12-year-old Vada Rose and 7-year-old Samuel lost their lives in a helicopter accident in Montana.

Zachary and Kelsey’s ten-year-old son Finn was not on the helicopter and is safe.

IDOT releases new maps

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the release of the new Illinois Official Highway Map, with updates to listings and locations of colleges and universities, Amtrak service, tourist attractions and recreational areas.

The map is funded through the Federal Highway Administration and published by IDOT every two years on recycled paper.

The map’s cover features a sunset along U.S. 34 between Mendota and Princeton.
