Casey Township Library Board of Trustees Meeting | October 2, 2025
The Casey Township Library Board made a key financial decision at its meeting on Thursday, October 2, 2025, voting to keep the annual non-resident library card fee at $70. This decision ensures equitable contributions from users living outside the library’s tax district. For more details, see the full story.
The board also discussed its community engagement efforts, announcing the cancellation of its Homecoming Parade entry due to a lack of volunteers. However, the library is looking ahead to the Christmas parade and has a full slate of programming scheduled for October, including author visits and children’s events. Read our separate article for a complete rundown of upcoming programs.
Imagination Library Enrollment Reaches 77
The library’s Imagination Library program continues to expand, with Librarian Gretchen Murphy reporting that 77 local children are now enrolled. The popular program, which mails a free, age-appropriate book to children from birth to age five each month, is a key part of the library’s early literacy outreach.
Friends of the Library Update
No meeting has been scheduled for the Friends of the Library organization. During the board meeting, a member present noted the need for more frequent social media activity, specifically suggesting more posts on the library’s Facebook page to keep the community updated on news and events.
Consent Agenda Approved
The board unanimously approved the consent agenda. The motion, made by Trustee Chrissy Squires, included the approval of the September 4, 2025, meeting minutes, the financial and activity reports for September, and the authorization to pay bills.
Next Meeting Scheduled
The next meeting of the Casey Township Library Board of Trustees is set for 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the library.
