Ameren requests rate hike
A year after receiving a $308.6 million electric rate hike, Ameren Illinois is asking the Illinois Commerce Commission for authority to increase its delivery rates by an extra $59.6 million.
The Citizens Utility Board said a provision in state regulatory law allows the utility to petition the ICC to recover extra expenses in yearly reconciliation cases, if they go over-budget on capital expenditures.
Pearl Harbor remembrance
Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day will be recognized statewide with flags being ordered half-staff.
The Illinois Department of Central Management Services said it received notice from Gov. J.B. Pritzker that all persons or entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act are to lower the U.S. and state flags upon sunrise Dec. 7 until sunset.
Group opposes bill on governor’s desk
Illinois Right to Life continues to oppose a measure allowing doctor assisted suicide.
The group points to a story from WEEK TV about concerns county coroners have raised.
The measure, Senate Bill 1950, was approved by legislators in October.
It was sent to the governor on Nov. 25.
Illinois Right to Life promises to deliver petitions to the governor opposing the bill.
