The Casey-Westfield Warriors struggled to find their rhythm offensively, falling to Altamont 34-12 in a defensive battle. The Warriors faced a difficult shooting night, connecting on just four field goals throughout the contest, which allowed Altamont to build an early lead and maintain control.

Altamont set the tone immediately, holding Casey-Westfield scoreless in the opening quarter while putting up nine points. The defensive pressure continued into the second quarter, where the Warriors managed just three points, sending the teams into the locker room with Altamont leading 15-3.

The third quarter proved to be another hurdle for Casey-Westfield, as the offense was held without a point for the second time in the game. Despite the offensive struggles, the Warriors’ defense worked hard to keep the game within reach, limiting Altamont to just seven points in the frame.

The Warriors found some traction in the fourth quarter, scoring nine points—their highest output of the game. Senior Julia Eckerty led the charge for Casey-Westfield, finishing with a team-high six points. She did most of her damage from the free-throw line, sinking 4-of-5 attempts.

Senior Lucy Moore contributed four points and was a presence in the paint and on defense. Moore led the team on the glass with six rebounds and anchored the defense with three blocks and two steals. Sophomore G. Gilbert rounded out the scoring with two points.

Ball security and shooting efficiency proved to be the difference-makers. The Warriors shot 12 percent from the field and committed 17 turnovers, while Altamont steadily increased their lead in every quarter.
