Historical Society Parade: The council approved Resolution #011926A, authorizing the temporary closure of Illinois Route 49 for the Casey Historical Society Parade. Public Works Update: Director of Public Works Ryan Staley reported that the department is using the winter months to focus on training and maintenance, specifically regarding lift stations. He also noted that the transition to EJ Water for sewer and water operations has been smooth and that past paperwork backlogs are being addressed.
Richards Farm Recognition: Mayor Nichols and Economic Development Director Tom Daughhetee reported on the 50th Anniversary ribbon cutting for Richards Farm held the previous Friday. “It’s hard to have a business for 50 years successful. It’s even tougher to have a restaurant business for 50 years run by the same family,” Nichols said.
