The Casey-Westfield varsity softball team delivered a flawless all-around performance on Friday, erupting offensively to secure a decisive 20-0 non-conference victory over visiting St. Teresa in a four-inning, run-rule shortened game.

The Warriors wasted no time establishing control, sending a barrage of hitters to the plate in a massive nine-run first inning. Casey-Westfield kept their foot firmly on the gas pedal with four runs in the second and seven in the third, overwhelming the Bulldogs’ defense while playing completely error-free softball in the field.

Junior H. Schackmann (#7) sparked the offensive onslaught, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, two runs scored, and a game-high five RBIs. Junior Ella Whitacre provided the game’s biggest swing, blasting a home run and driving in three runs during her perfect 2-for-2 outing. Sophomore Arhianna Bonds also enjoyed a flawless day in the batter’s box, going 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored, while senior Ava Goble ripped a pair of doubles to drive in two more.

In the circle, a trio of Casey-Westfield pitchers combined for a pristine four-inning shutout. Sophomore G. Gilbert earned the start and the win, scattering just two hits over two scoreless innings while striking out a pair. Destiney Budd and Goble each tossed a scoreless inning in relief to close out the game. Goble was particularly dominant in her lone frame, striking out the side.

St. Teresa struggled to contain the Warriors’ lineup, committing two costly errors behind their pitching staff. Xaniyah Todd, Emery Krieger, Riley Boyer, and Avery Harrison each managed a hit for the Bulldogs, but the team could not string together enough offense to push a run across.
