MATTOON — The Lake Land College Board of Trustees on Monday, May 11, 2026, approved the low bid of $38,628.47 from AHW LLC of Ashmore for agricultural diesel engine repair stands and accessories for the college’s John Deere Tech program.

The motion by Vice Chair Denise Walk, seconded by Trustee Gary Cadwell, carried unanimously, 7-0, with Student Trustee Wyatt Draper absent.

According to a memo from Vice President for Business Services John Woodruff, the equipment will support hands-on instruction in the teardown, inspection, diagnostics and reassembly of components. The college advertised the bid in major daily in-district newspapers and mailed proposals to all interested companies, drawing two bids from area companies: AHW LLC at $38,628.47 and Sloan Implement of Shelbyville at $44,162.20. The bid tabulation identifies the solicitation as Project No. 2026-006, with bids opened April 28, 2026.

Woodruff recommended the AHW bid, which also includes an additional discount of $1,741.68. The purchase will be made with funds from the Ullrich Grant.
