EFFINGHAM — Lake Land College has a new leader for its student services division. The Board of Trustees on Monday unanimously approved the appointment of Heather Nohren as the college’s Vice President for Student Services.
The appointment came after the board returned from a closed session held to discuss “the appointment, employment, compensation, performance, or dismissal of specific employees.”
Trustee Doris Reynolds moved to approve Nohren’s appointment, with a second from Trustee Gary Cadwell. The motion passed without opposition. The appointment was effective immediately, beginning August 18, 2025.
According to the board’s approved Human Resources Report, Nohren is an internal promotion. She is transferring to the vice president role from her position as Academic Counselor/Chair. The report from the closed session also indicated the board discussed a full-time, tenure-track faculty member, though no other appointments at the executive level were announced.
