ICC strikes some utility rate requests

The Illinois Commerce Commission has struck $25.4 million from ComEd’s $268.5 million 2024 rate reconciliation request.

An ICC statement said the decision struck the bulk of overrun costs related to the utility’s “mismanaged” customer care and billing rollout.

In a separate decision, the ICC struck $11.2 million from Ameren Illinois’ $59.6 million multi-year rate reconciliation request.

Woman with history of battery detained

A woman with a history of attacking people on the Chicago Transit Authority is accused of battering four more victims in Chicago’s Loop this week.

CWB Chicago reports that Jada Beatty, 26, was detained after she appeared in court Wednesday.

Prosecutor say the latest incidents Tuesday involved Beatty allegedly hitting two women with a bottle on the CTA Red Line and striking a couple taking their grandson to lunch inside Macy’s department store.

Bears suggest Indiana option

Chicago Bears President and CEO Kevin Warren says the team’s efforts to build a new stadium have been met with no legislative partnership.

In a letter posted on the Bears website, Warren said the team would expand its search to include Northwest Indiana.

Warren said the team has not asked for state taxpayer dollars to build a stadium in Arlington Heights but did seek a commitment to local infrastructure and “reasonable property tax certainty.”
