Teutopolis Cruises Past Casey-Westfield 10-0 Behind Massive Second Inning
The Teutopolis varsity baseball team continued its dominant start to the 2026 season on Thursday afternoon, cruising to a 10-0 non-conference victory over visiting Casey-Westfield in a five-inning contest. Backed by a suffocating pitching performance and a massive early rally, the hosts controlled the game from the opening pitch.
Teutopolis took the lead right out of the gate. The hosts pushed a single run across the plate in the bottom of the first inning to establish a quick 1-0 advantage. However, it was the bottom of the second inning that truly decided the afternoon.
The Teutopolis offense exploded, stringing together quality at-bats to erupt for nine runs in the frame. The massive offensive surge put the home team up 10-0, completely overwhelming the Casey-Westfield defense and effectively putting the game out of reach.
From there, the Teutopolis pitching staff and defense took care of the rest. They held the Casey-Westfield lineup scoreless over five innings to secure the shutout win, triggering the run rule to end the game early.
With the decisive victory, Teutopolis improves its impressive overall record to 6-1 on the season and remains a perfect 4-0 at home. The highly ranked squad has been a force so far this year, outscoring opponents by a staggering 50-8 margin. Casey-Westfield drops to 4-2 overall with the loss and will look to bounce back in their next outing.
