Leeila S. Ennis, 78
Leeila S. Ennis, 78, of Westfield, Illinois, passed away surrounded by family and friends in her home at 1:00 p.m. on September 8, 2025. She was born on February 8, 1947, in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Frances (Sloan) Felkamp. She married Dwight O. Ennis on December 13, 1964, at the old Westfield Baptist Church.
Leeila was a 1965 graduate of Westfield High School. Following graduation, she went to work for Moore Business Forms. Leeila later worked from home babysitting local children, worked at H & H Propane, and retired after thirty years from Eastern Illinois University. Leeila and her husband faithfully attended Westfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, reading books, and watching Hallmark movies. Leeila also enjoyed family gatherings and attending tractor and car shows with her husband.
She is survived by her husband, Dwight Ennis of Westfield, Illinois; son, Eric (Donna) Ennis of Cape Coral, Florida; daughter, Julie (Mike) Goodwin of Marshall, Illinois; daughter-in-law, Becky Ennis of Charleston, Illinois; eleven grandchildren, Keshia Ennis (Alina Longbrake), Mitchell (Kayla) Simmons, Kendall (Savannah Champlin) Ennis, Kady (Zach) Kahrig, Taylor (Katlin Myers) Warner, Justin Goodwin, Myriah (Jon) Stephen, Eli (Emma) Ennis, Emily (Rueger Walters) Ennis, Elisha (Preston Mrozak) Ennis, Ethan (Lilly Zerbst) Ennis, and Eleah Ennis; twelve great-grandchildren; and siblings, Luanne (Larry) Throneburg and Chuck (Loretta) Felkamp. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law and many special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Travis Ennis; and grandson, Jacob Ennis.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Maple Hill Cemetery, Westfield, Illinois, with Pastor Scott Sims officiating.
